A Good Deed

A Good Deed

At the end of the year, our community continues to pull together with a hope of providing more of our neighbors with the support they need throughout the holiday season. The Farmington Area Goodfellows is one local organization hard at work to provide that support.

Last month, the Goodfellows sorted and packed over 30,000 cans and boxes of food from local businesses and the Farmington Public Schools’ Food Drive. Remaining items helped to restock the shelves at Farmington-Farmington Hills Neighborhood House and CARES of Farmington Hills. Goodfellows also purchased several pallets of diapers, as well as grocery store debit cards and Target gift cards. Thousands of book donations were sorted for each of the almost 400 children in the program. On December 17, volunteers will gather to deliver these boxes to hundreds of children, seniors, and developmentally disabled adults in the greater Farmington area who are in need of assistance.

Although the Goodfellows’ warehouse itself is only open for a few weeks during the Christmas season, the work continues all year. After the holidays, the organization collects canned and boxed foods, paper products, and personal care items for the Neighborhood House food pantry.

Wright Beamer is pleased to support the Farmington Area Goodfellows for this year’s holiday season. Visit the Goodfellows website to learn more about the work and how you can help support our neighbors who need it most.
