Lee Flaherty is primarily responsible for the firm’s sophisticated estate planning practice. Her expertise covers a broad range of estate planning tools ranging from simple wills to complex trusts that avoid probate, protect vulnerable family members, minimize taxes, maximize charitable giving, and preserve cherished assets such as the family cottage.
Lee heads up the firm’s real estate practice as well, where her experience encompasses a wide variety of commercial and residential transactions, including landlord/tenant law.
She also has extensive experience in business and corporate law. In that arena, she focuses on the creation and ongoing support of both for-profit and non-profit enterprises.
Lee greatly enjoys speaking to groups on topics such as estate planning and administration, cottage succession planning, and the formation and governance of non-profit corporations.
"The aspect of my practice that I particularly love is the chance to be part of people's lives. Sometimes it's only for a brief time to help someone through a transaction or an event, but more often my representation continues for many years and even spans the generations within a business or a family. It's a privilege for which I am deeply grateful."
