Things to Know (About Us!): Heather Yanke Lunneberg

These days, we are all finding new and creative ways to stay connected while maintaining distance. Phone calls have become video calls, meetings morphed into video conferences, seminars are now webinars, and churches “gather” virtually.

As Director of Music at Grace Chapel in Farmington Hills, WB legal assistant Heather Yanke Lunneberg is among the many church leaders facing the challenge head-on. When weekly meetings were suspended for the health and safety of the congregation, Heather began coordinating online worship, spending her Saturday mornings recording each week’s service. Deb Yanke, WB administrator and Heather’s mom, lends a hand by manning the media computer that allows all the video components to come together seamlessly. Along with a weekly speaker and the church’s audio technician, this skeleton crew puts together a service that is then shared on the Grace Chapel website and Facebook page.

We all long for the day when we can gather together again, but it’s encouraging to see people in all sorts of fields use technology to help achieve a sense of continuity and normalcy. We may be six feet apart, but we are not alone!
