Last month, the halls of the Vista Tech Center at Schoolcraft College were filled with discussions about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. For a third year, the Livonia Chamber of Commerce hosted its Connecting Cultures to Business Luncheon, a "groundbreaking program on the advice of experts who say communities and companies who encourage a productive multicultural and multigenerational environment will have the best chances for future economic development success." The event’s panel featured four female business leaders in the metro Detroit area, including Mary Engelman, Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
Dirk Beamer was happy to be on hand to greet longtime Farmington friend Mary Engelman and to learn about future workplace trends.
