In February, for the first time ever, Eastern Michigan University ("EMU") hosted an American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament. By engaging in trial simulations with competing collegiate teams, students develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, and obtain knowledge of evidentiary and procedural rules.

Evan Chall, an EMU Mock Trial alumnus, served as a "judge" in both Saturday rounds. An EMU Mock Trial Alumni Reunion was held at Sidetrack Bar & Grill following the event.

Over the years, Dr. Barry Pyle and the EMU Mock Trial and Moot Court programs have helped many students -- including Evan -- develop a passion for the practice of the law.
