Estate Planning – Things to Do Before 2017

The attorneys and staff of Wright Beamer have long recognized the importance of being involved in the communities where we work and live. Our commitment as a firm, and as individuals, to a wide variety of volunteer based, non-profit organizations is long standing and deep. One such organization with which we, as a firm, have enjoyed a close longstanding relationship is the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce, or “GFACC” for short. Our attorneys have been privileged to serve on the Board of Directors of the GFACC and to provide legal assistance on a wide variety of matters over the years.

The GFACC recently announced the hiring of a new Executive Director, Mary Martin. Mary is a Farmington resident and is well known in the Farmington and Farmington Hills communities. Mary previously served as an interim director of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority and has also managed Farmington’s annual Harvest Moon event. Mary was also instrumental in transforming the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market into what it is today. In 2005, the Downtown Farmington Main Street Program instituted the Mary Martin Service Award, given annually to a volunteer who has exhibited exemplary service to Downtown Farmington. It has been said of Mary that her ideas and efforts epitomize a combination of vision, commitment and excitement.

Mary’s first day on the job will be Monday, December 5, 2016. The Chamber Board of Directors is excited to see what the future holds under Mary’s leadership, and Mary looks forward to the opportunity to meet Chamber members, community leaders and everyone at upcoming Chamber events.
