In 2018, Wright Beamer’s own Kathy Spray fulfilled a longtime dream when she founded Aging Paws, a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating the costs associated with caring for senior dogs. As man’s best friend grows older, the cost of care can continue to rise, causing financial stress to some owners. Aging Paws is committed to helping individuals in need so that senior dogs may spend their golden years in their own home or in a loving foster home. The organization works with local veterinarians, shelters and rescues to tackle challenges owners face with their aging pets.

This year, Aging Paws will expand its team with the creation of a teen panel. Led by Kathy’s teen daughters, the volunteer panel will work to develop fundraising opportunities and plan promotional events. This chance will offer a glimpse into the innerworkings of a corporation, while providing invaluable volunteer experience. Oakland County teens between the age of 13 and 19 who are interested in this opportunity can send an email to agingpawsinc@gmail.com.

We applaud Kathy’s efforts – not just with Aging Paws, but also with this endeavor to provide a worthwhile experience to the teens in our community!
