Soon, spring will give way to summer. We will all shake off vestiges of the cold and give in to the calls of the sun and all its glory.
Waiting for us on the other side is the 30th season of the Farmington Farmers Market. This Saturday, the bell will ring again at the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion and Riley Park, and the market will be back with Farmington’s favorite Saturday tradition. Opening day promises to be lively with a performance by the Farmington High 20-piece brass and percussion marching unit and live music from The Steven Taylor Three later in the morning. Special guests will include Farmington Mayor Pro Tem Joe LaRussa and Kathy Fusilier of Fusilier Family Farms, one of the market’s original vendors. Ace Hardware will be on-site to discuss battery-powered tools and outdoor grills. New vendors and old favorites can be found offering fresh local produce, vegetable starts, herbs, microgreens, plants, treats, and artisan wares.
Wright Beamer takes great pride in sponsoring the market each year. Aside from offering a fun Saturday outing and access to fresh foods, the Farmington Farmers Market supports the community with several food assistance opportunities and programs available to those in need.
More information about the Farmington Farmers Market and vendors can be found online. We hope to see you out on a Saturday at the market!
