The Child Life Services team of Beaumont Children's Hospital is committed to offering extraordinary care through easing emotional trauma and anxiety. Certified Child Life Specialists are trained in the developmental impact of illness and injury. According to its website, the specialists are dedicated to supporting infants, children, youth and families in coping with the “stress and uncertainty of acute and chronic illness, injury, trauma, disability, loss and bereavement.”

Up to five times per week, pediatric patients can select one or more books to keep, offering a much-needed source of comfort during their hospital stay. Wright Beamer’s own Patrice Ladd recently attended a fundraiser in support of Beaumont Children’s Hospital. All purchases made through the Usborne Books & More event will be matched by 50% to help provide free books to these children.
