Last year, high school seniors experienced a reimagined graduation ceremony. Some events went virtual, and others took the form of drive-through celebrations. While things seem to be steadily improving, many are again faced with tough decisions for this year’s graduating class.
This month, the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives each voted on and passed similar bills to exempt high school graduation ceremonies from capacity limits. As a parent of a graduating senior and Co-Chair of the Milford Senior Parent Planning Committee, Kathy Spray testified before the Michigan House of Representatives Education Committee about potential benefits and implications of the proposed legislation.
If either bill passes in the opposite chamber, it will end up with the governor for final approval. Regardless of the outcome, we are impressed by Kathy’s interest and participation in the legislative process.
