Small Business Series

Every business starts with a spark — an idea that won’t let go. But between inspiration and launch, there are important decisions to make. How should you structure your business? What filings are required? What does it really take to build something that lasts?

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Lee Flaherty of Wright Beamer will kick off the Farmington Community Library’s five-part Lunch & Learn Small Business Series with a session titled Starting a Business. Designed for new and aspiring entrepreneurs, the discussion will walk through the fundamentals of business formation: selecting the right entity type, understanding legal requirements, and maintaining your business in good standing.

The series continues March 17 with a Small Business Owners Panel Q&A featuring local entrepreneurs. On March 24, attendees will explore free business resources, incentives, and grant opportunities available to small businesses in Farmington and Farmington Hills. March 31 offers interactive speed networking to help build meaningful professional connections. The series concludes April 7 with Steve Annear of the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s Wellness, sharing the foundation’s inspiring impact on the Farmington Hills community.

Sessions are held each Tuesday from March 10 through April 7, 2026, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the FCL Farmington Hills Auditorium at 32737 W. 12 Mile Road. Events are free and open to the public, though registration is required. Food will be provided, and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch. A library card is not required to attend, and ADA accommodations may be requested at least 10 days in advance.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of a series that supports local entrepreneurs at every stage. You can learn more or register on the event page.
