Last year, Kathy Spray gave herself the ultimate birthday present: bringing a longtime dream to life. With the help of some friends and family, she founded Aging Paws.

As man’s best friend grows older, the cost of care can continue to rise, causing financial stress to some owners. While currently working to raise awareness and funding for its cause, Aging Paws is committed to helping individuals in need so that senior dogs may spend their golden years in their own home or in a loving foster home. The nonprofit organization has already gained local press, having been featured in West Oakland’s Spinal Column last week. Aging Paws hopes to work with local veterinarians, shelters and rescues to tackle challenges owners face with their aging pets.
