As the holiday season approaches, one Farmington Hills tradition invites shoppers to give a little differently. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Alternative Christmas Fair at Hope Lutheran Church, a beloved event that turns holiday shopping into an opportunity to make a difference.
Founded by Jessica Beamer and other members of Hope, the fair has connected the community with local, national, and international causes for a quarter of a century. Each purchase at the fair supports participating charities and nonprofits directly, helping them continue their meaningful work.
This year’s lineup includes organizations such as Donate Life Coalition of Michigan, Project Linus, Days for Girls, Motown Soups, Song and Spirit, Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit, Bethlehem Wood Carvings, and Neighborhood House–Farmington Hills, among many others. Vendors will offer handmade gifts, ornaments, clothing, handbags, and more, with proceeds benefiting their respective charitable efforts. You’ll also find groups like Women at Risk International, Oakland County Foster Closet, and Kids 4 Afghan Kids, each sharing unique ways to give back through their missions and creations.
Join in the celebration this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and find gifts that give back—and help celebrate 25 years of generosity, community, and hope. Learn more on the event Facebook page.
