A Seat at the Table

A dinner can be a lot of things: a chance to catch up with friends, meet someone new or simply enjoy a good meal. On October 15, it will also be a chance to support families throughout Farmington, Farmington Hills, and their neighboring communities.

CARES of Farmington Hills will host its fifth annual Grateful Plateful Dinner tonight at the Huron River Hunting & Fishing Club in Farmington, uniting community members, local businesses and volunteers, all in support of CARES’ work to address suburban hunger.

Tonight’s dinner also kicks off CARES’ annual Season of Giving, which runs through January. The need for CARES continues to grow, with more households turning to the CARES food pantry and July marking its busiest month since the pantry reopened in 2022. As the colder months approach and families navigate the added pressures of the holiday season, continued community support will be especially important in helping CARES meet that need.

The Season of Giving provides an opportunity for individuals and businesses to extend that spirit of generosity through the winter, helping CARES provide food and resources to neighbors who need them. Whether you’ve supported CARES for years or are just learning about its work, a contribution can be a meaningful way to make a difference close to home.

Consider being part of the effort to keep full plates on tables throughout our neighborhood. Make a contribution to CARES of Farmington Hills and help carry tonight’s spirit of community into the months ahead.
