The Oakland County Bar Foundation all began with an idea to establish a law library for local attorneys. The charitable act of donating funds to support the library would eventually expand into the foundation as we know it now.
Today, the Oakland County Bar Foundation partners with the Oakland County Bar Association to support programs designed to “increase access, affordability, and understanding of the law and legal system.” Oakland County Bar Association members help the foundation to expand its reach and grant-giving efforts.
The OCBF Fellows program is a critical piece of the foundation’s work. The number of Fellows is limited to not more than 10% of the total active membership of the State Bar of Michigan who practice in Oakland County. Funds from the program help support various legal aid projects and causes in the community. Membership is considered a professional distinction and evidence of an attorney’s commitment to the various group that benefit from the foundation’s grants.
Earlier this year, Evan Chall was named a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation. The Annual Fellows Reception honored several current Fellows and recognized new members, including Evan.
We are incredibly proud of Evan and his ongoing dedication to the legal community!
