A Summer Favorite

A Summer Favorite

If it’s summertime, then it’s time for the Greater Farmington Founders Festival! Celebrating its 58th year, the annual event kicks off tonight and runs through Saturday.

Tonight will see a soft opening with a beer tent and food trucks. Live music from dance-rock band Local Heroes begins at 7:00. Official festivities start Friday morning with a Crafters Market, live sand art demonstrations and Touch-A-Truck. And the Fido Fest will be back! The 5k Color Run and Aloha-themed parade will be Saturday morning’s highlights.

Construction on Farmington Road will relocate the Crafters Market to the parking lot at Grand River and Farmington, and the expanded Kids Zone can be found on Warner Street.

Our friends at the Farmington Farmers Market will keep regular hours on Saturday but have relocated for one day to make room for the festival. You can find your favorite market at Farmington High School. Look for vendor tents in the parking lot near the tennis courts.

Find out more details about this weekend’s fun on the Founders Festival website and enjoy a Farmington summer tradition!
