At Center Stage

You probably know “The Barn.” It is an iconic building in the heart of Farmington Hills. What used to be a real dairy farm is now home to a state-of-the-art theater. And for over 65 years, the volunteers of the Farmington Players have been bringing to the stage some of the best comedies, dramas, and mysteries all in the name of entertainment.

While the doors were closed last season, the playhouse took the opportunity to pursue other avenues for the arts, introducing a podcast-like audio theater. According to the theater website, the Farmington Players Audio Theater consists of “short radio plays featuring original scripts – many from local Michigan playwrights and [the theater's] Barnscribes writing team.” The first audio production was released last year and continues today, available through the theater’s website, on YouTube, and other streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

After a year of being closed, however, the curtains will open again for the 2021-2022 season! The first of three shows will begin in November with the hilarious comedy, A Hunting Shack Christmas. The romantic comedy, Token of Affection, will arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day. Deathrap, a classic thriller, will close out the season this spring. Tickets can be purchased through the Farmington Players website.

At Wright Beamer, we value the arts in our community. We hope you can make time for a show and support our neighbors. You might just be able to find us in the playbill!
