The Greater Farmington Film Festival held its first screening a decade ago with an idea to bring "good films for a better world" to our community. Each year, the volunteer-only group meets weekly to bring us films that aren’t widely known, but that offer strong messages of unity and the power of all of us.
In two weeks, KickstART brings back the festival for its 10th anniversary. Things begin March 21 at Oakland County Community College with an afternoon special program: a presentation and talk with this year's Michigan Featured Artist, filmmaker and producer, Donald Harrison. That evening kicks off with the first of several films that can be found at the Riviera Cinema and the Farmington Civic Theater. This year’s lineup covers a “diverse selection of narrative and documentary films that engage the heart and mind, explore important contemporary issues, and inspire action,” according to the event’s website.
At Wright Beamer, we value the arts in our community. We are looking forward to the return of the Greater Farmington Film Festival showcasing some of the best that cinematography has to offer. Film lovers can find tickets and more information about the festival’s program online.
