More than 40 years ago, Friends for the Development of Greenmead was established to raise funds for the maintenance, upkeep, and renovations of the remarkable structures of Greenmead, Livonia’s exquisite historical village and cultural center. Recent projects made possible by donated funds include the restoration of the Greenhouse and the Newburg Church’s east stained-glass windows.
Each summer, Friends for the Development of Greenmead hosts a garden walk in Livonia. For one Saturday afternoon, five local private homes and the Simmons-Hill House on the grounds of Greenmead are open to the public. Proceeds from the event help in the continued improvement of Greenmead Historical Park.
June 24 will mark the 33rd Livonia Garden Walk and another opportunity to take in the beautiful sights of the community. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Greenmead office and Bennett Civic Center Library in advance. They will also be available the day of the event at the Bennett Civic Center Library and the Simmons-Hill House at Greenmead.
Wright Beamer looks forward to sponsoring this magnificent event and supporting the work of Friends for the Development of Greenmead!
