Gifting With a Purpose

Gifting With a Purpose

With the new month comes the beginning of the holiday shopping season. If you’re looking for a unique gift for the holiday season, look no further than the 22nd annual Alternative Christmas Fair hosted by Hope Lutheran Church of Farmington Hills.

The Alternative Christmas Fair provides the opportunity for charities, non-profits, and service organizations to present goods for sale while shoppers get the chance to learn about local, national, and international charities. Each participating organization offers unique gifts for sale or opportunities to donate. Every dollar of the proceeds goes back to the organization to continue its good work. A $1 admission is charged at the door and holiday sweets are sold to raise just enough money to pay administrative costs. Over the years, the fair has raised more than $600,000 for well over 100 charities, including Blessed Birthdays, the non-profit founded by Anika Jane Beamer in 2012.

The Alternative Christmas Fair will take place Saturday, November 12, from 10 am until 2 pm. If you hope to get a jump on your holiday shopping, visit the event’s Facebook page to find out more or to learn about some of the 32 vendors participating this year!
