Gifts That Give

For now, Halloween decorations are front and center, but in a few short weeks, we will all start to prepare for the holiday season! As you make your lists (and check them twice!), don’t forget the annual Alternative Christmas Fair at Hope Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills.

Founded by Jessica Beamer (this year’s recipient of the Governor's Service Award for Volunteer of the Year!) and other members of Hope, the Alternative Christmas Fair provides a platform for charities, non-profits, and service organizations to showcase their products and connect with the community. Shoppers can explore a variety of unique gifts and learn about local, national, and international charities, all while supporting their causes. Every dollar spent goes directly back to these organizations to continue their work. The event also features a bake sale with proceeds helping to offset the fair’s administrative costs.

Since its inception, the Alternative Christmas Fair has raised funds for more than 100 charities. You can shop on Saturday, November 9, from 10 am to 2 pm. And there’s still time for interested organizations to apply for space before tomorrow’s deadline. Find more information and the Vendor Application on the Hope Lutheran Church website.
