Good Hearts. Goodfellows.

Good Hearts. Goodfellows.

Throughout the holiday season, the Farmington Area Goodfellows lend support to more than 400 children, families, and seniors in the local community. As many people have faced another difficult year, the need is expected to be much greater this holiday season.

Last month, the Goodfellows sorted and packed over 30,000 cans and boxes of food from local businesses and the Farmington Public Schools’ Food Drive. Remaining items helped to restock the shelves at Farmington-Farmington Hills Neighborhood House and C.A.R.E.S. of Farmington Hills. Goodfellows also purchased 3 pallets of diapers and $18,000 in grocery store debit cards. Book donations were sorted for each of the almost 400 children in the program. On December 18th, volunteers will gather to deliver these boxes to hundreds of children, seniors, and developmentally disabled adults in the greater Farmington area who are in need of assistance.

Although the Goodfellows’ warehouse itself is only open for one month during the Christmas season, the work continues year-round. After the holidays, the organization collects canned and boxed foods, paper products, and personal care items for the Neighborhood House food pantry.

Wright Beamer is pleased to support the Farmington Area Goodfellows for this upcoming season. Visit the Goodfellows website to learn more about the work and how you can help make a great Christmas for our neighbors who need it most.
