Good Neighbors

As the year winds down, generosity shines as our community comes together to bring holiday cheer and relief to those who need it most. One group leading the way is the Farmington Area Goodfellows, working tirelessly to lift up over 400 local children, families, and seniors.

While the Goodfellows’ seasonal warehouse opens for just a few weeks around Christmas, their impact resonates all year. Through the Neighborhood House food pantry, they regularly collect canned and boxed foods, paper goods, and personal care items to provide ongoing support.

The Goodfellows’ warehouse, which relocates each year based on space availability, kicks off operations on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Volunteers dedicate their time gathering non-perishable foods, diapers, new books, and toys. Cash donations are used to purchase grocery and department store gift cards, adding a bit of warmth to the season for our neighbors in need. On Delivery Day, more than 200 volunteers bring care packages to hundreds of families across the Farmington area.

This year, the Farmington Civic Theater is again stepping up to also support the Goodfellows’ mission. On December 7, stop by for a family-friendly movie — admission is free with a donation of non-perishable food, a new unwrapped toy, or a cash contribution.

At Wright Beamer, we deeply value every effort to foster kindness in our community. If you’re able, please consider supporting the Farmington Area Goodfellows in any way you can and help make a difference this holiday season. For those who may need assistance, the deadline for applying is November 20. Visit the Goodfellows’ website to find out how to help or to learn more about the resources available.
