In Fond Memory of William M. Wright

In Fond Memory of William…

With heavy hearts, we share news that our founding partner, mentor, and friend, William M. Wright, entered life eternal on Monday, February 6, 2023. Bill was 74. A graduate of Wayne State University Law School, Bill built a thriving practice with special concentration in business, tax, and estate planning law. After several successful partnerships, Bill founded William M. Wright, P.C. in 1991, and we are very proud that this firm still bears his name.

Bill taught estate planning courses for Oakland University and Ave Maria School of Law. He contributed regularly as an author and speaker for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). All the while, he advised clients and mentored young colleagues with a brilliant mind, a sharp wit, an infectious laugh, and boundless energy. A man of deep and public faith, Bill shared his time and his talents generously with numerous religious organizations and charities.

Bill’s enthusiasm for his clients and his firm … while great … held no candle to his love and devotion to his family. He retired from Wright Beamer in 2002 to enjoy more time with his three daughters, their spouses and children, and, most especially, his beloved wife, Patti. As the family aptly noted in Bill’s obituary, “Bill was not an imposing figure, but he leaves behind an enormous legacy.” We at Wright Beamer are incredibly grateful and proud to be a part of that legacy.

Bill’s full obituary may be found here.
