In Full Bloom

As the summer sun warms up our days, the community has come alive with vibrant colors and new blossoms. The Friends of Greenmead Garden Walk embodies the season’s spirit of growth.

Hosted by Friends for the Development of Greenmead, the annual event celebrates nature's beauty and the artistry of gardening. On June 29, attendees can stroll through some of Livonia's most enchanting gardens, each a testament to creativity and horticultural expertise. The tour will include five privately owned homes as well as the inimitable Simmons-Hill House gardens.

Friends for the Development of Greenmead is a nonprofit organization dedicated to securing funds for the enhancement and preservation of Greenmead Historical Park. In a testament to its commitment, it recently contributed $50,000 to support the restoration of the greenhouse and an additional $7,000 towards renovating the east stained-glass windows of the Newburg Church.

Join the Friends of Greenmead Garden Walk for an afternoon celebrating natural beauty and community. Secure your spot online or drop by the Greenmead Office or the Civic Center Library to snag your tickets for just $9. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event for $10 at the Civic Center Library or the Simmons-Hill House at Greenmead.
