State of the Cities

The State of the Cities event has long been a key gathering for Farmington and Farmington Hills, offering a chance to reflect on progress, hear from local leaders, and connect with the community. This year, the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce is introducing a more engaging and accessible format.

Held on April 1 at The Hawk, the evening will feature a business expo, a VIP reception, and the traditional mayoral addresses. The Business Expo (4:30-6 p.m.) is free and open to the public, showcasing 50 local businesses and offering guests a complimentary one-day pass to The Hawk.

For a more exclusive networking opportunity, the VIP Reception (5-6:30 p.m.) will bring together business leaders, elected officials, and key stakeholders in the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $75 per person and include light bites and access to a cash bar.

The evening will conclude with the State of the Cities Addresses (7-8:30 p.m.), where Farmington Hills Mayor Theresa Rich, Farmington Mayor Joe LaRussa, Oakland Community College Chancellor Peter Provenzano, and Farmington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kelly Coffin will share updates and future initiatives. Guests will be welcomed with music from the Farmington Concert Band. This portion of the event is free and open to all.

Previously a morning breakfast, the event has been restructured for broader participation. While the expo and addresses are free, advanced registration is encouraged. For details and registration, visit the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce’s website.
