Summer Stroll

If you’re looking for a way to welcome the summer season, the Friends of Greenmead invite you to slow down and soak it in at the 35th Annual Garden Walk!

On Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., five privately owned gardens throughout Livonia will open their gates for a self-guided tour. You’ll also have the chance to explore the beautifully maintained gardens at Greenmead’s own Simmons-Hill House. Whether you’re an avid gardener or just enjoy a quiet walk through vibrant landscapes, this beloved community event is always a breath of fresh air.

The Garden Walk is hosted by the Friends for the Development of Greenmead, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for the restoration and growth of Greenmead Historical Park, Livonia’s treasured historical village and cultural center. All proceeds from the event go directly toward supporting ongoing improvements and development of this special community space.

Advance tickets are available for $9 through Friday, June 27, and can be purchased online, at the Greenmead Office, or at the Bennett Civic Center Library. Same day tickets are $10 and can be picked up at the Simmons-Hill House (from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) or the library (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.). All in-person ticket sales are cash or check only.

At Wright Beamer, we’re proud to support events and organizations that help our local communities grow and thrive. We hope you’ll take the walk and enjoy the beauty of Livonia in full bloom!
