Each summer, you will find the nation’s largest 4-H county fair tucked away in the small town of Goshen, Indiana … home of the Elkhart County Fair. The annual event hosts more than 200,000 visitors. This year, the fair ran during the last week of July and featured 250 different commercial exhibits, events, and several concerts.
Throughout the exciting week, Heather Brenneman Miles and her family go "all in" to support 4-H sponsored livestock competitions and showings! Having grown up on a dairy farm, which currently runs as a full-blown operation including custom harvesting and cattle raising, Heather and the whole Brenneman crew know 4-H, its fair and the hard work well. Her nieces and nephews show steers, pigs and rabbits, and two nephews participate with tractor driving and maintenance club. There's no rest for the weary but still a fair's share of fun along with all the effort. This year marked the tenth and final show for Heather’s niece, Gracie, as she prepares for Notre Dame in the fall. Gracie received the top honor of Champion Master Showman of the Dairy Feeder Calf Club to round out her 4-H swansong, and her nephew, Lane, won Junior Showmanship. We are so proud of Heather, Gracie, and the entire family for all the hard work they have put in over the years.
