Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that affects communication and social interaction. The challenges associated with ASD are different for everyone. Assistance and treatment at an early age can be critical in a child’s development. Unfortunately, the services needed are expensive and not always covered by insurance. Many families will not get the help they need.
Bluestone VOICES for Autism was established in late 2020. The organization’s mission is to “support the treatment of children with autism.” Since its inception, Bluestone has been able to deliver more than 20 scholarships totaling over $20,000 to families, centers, and therapists-in-training across Michigan. Funds are raised from individual and corporate donors, as well as fundraising events.
This Saturday, Bluestone will hold its second annual golf outing. Golfers will come together at the Fellows Creek Golf Club in Canton for a full day of golf, games, and lunch. It ends with dinner and a silent auction. All proceeds help the organization support families with financial needs get access to the necessary services.
