Opening Day!

If there is one thing that announces the coming of summer, it is opening day of the Farmington Farmers Market. And this Saturday, the bell will ring again at the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington, and the market will be back with Farmington’s favorite Saturday tradition!

This season will be uniquely remarkable as Farmington celebrates its bicentennial anniversary, and opening day promises to be lively with a performances by the North Farmington High School marching band and Groves-Walker American Legion Post Color Guard and live music beginning later in the morning. Heather Yanke Lunneberg will lend her vocal talents for a performance of the National Anthem, and Dirk Beamer will serve as this year’s host and emcee introducing the day’s exciting guests, including Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II, State Rep. Jason Hoskins, and Farmington Mayor Joe LaRussa. The season begins with vegetable starts, herbs, micro greens, porch pots, baskets, bedding plants, locally made specialty foods, and artisan wares.

Wright Beamer is proud to continue its longstanding support of the Farmington Farmers Market – not just because of the fun and the food, but also for the good that it does for our neighbors. More information about the Farmington Farmers Market and vendors can be found online. We hope to see you out on a Saturday at the market!
